Tell It To The Wind is a song a Gratitude
The wind holds a special place in my heart. I've always felt that a windy day is so much better than a calm day. The wind brings excitement and hope. It's just special. When I was a kid, I'd run outside on a windy day and just enjoy it. I loved the movement and it's wild nature. Anything could happen on a windy day/night. There was hope in the wind.
As a kid I wanted 3 things: A horse, boots, and a guitar. While on tour in Waterford Mississippi, at Foxfire Ranch I found myself doing what I love. One morning I walked out of my cabin to go visit the horses on the ranch, I whispered to myself "tell it to the wind." I liked how it made me feel but I had no idea where it came from or why it came. When I got to the horses, I had an epiphany. I had everything that I wanted as a kid in that very moment. I had my guitar, my boots, and horses! My heart was filled with gratitude and instantly I had an entire chorus "Tell it to the wind-- everything I hope for, everything my heart desires, everything I dream of, everything that I aspire to".

I've been listening to this album, and others, for a while but the live performances of 'Firecracker' and 'Wild Turkey' , as well ad 'Darlin' Cory', at the Transatlantic Sessions show at the RFH was another level. Live music is the best. The whole concert was insanely good. Shame not to hear 'Black Myself' in that setting but it was all near perfection as it was. oldjembo
